The Pakistani military launched its latest offensive against Taliban militants in northwest Pakistan in Kurram, an agency within the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Brigadier Basharat Ahmed, Sector Commander, Central Kurram Agency, disclosed, some 40 militants had been killed and several areas were 'cleared' of militants, including Manato, Dombeki, Gawaki and Sungroba.
