British Airways (BA) is the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom, based in Waterside, near its main hub at London Heathrow Airport. British Airways is the largest airline in the UK based on fleet size, international flights and international destinations. BA's UK passengers originating at non-London airports must connect via London after British Airways discontinued all direct overseas flights from UK airports outside London following the sale of BA Connect to British regional carrier Flybe in 2007. The British Airways Board was established in 1971 to control the two nationalised airline corporations, BOAC and BEA, and two smaller, regional airlines, Cambrian Airways, from Cardiff, and Northeast Airlines, from Newcastle upon Tyne. On 31 March 1974, all four companies were merged to form British Airways. After almost thirteen years as a state company, that was sold in February 1987 as part of a privatisation plan by the Conservative Government. The carrier soon expanded with the acquisition of British Caledonian in 1987 and Dan-Air, Gatwick-based carrier, in 1992. A long-time Boeing customer, British Airways ordered fifty-nine Airbus A320 family aircraft in August 1998. In 2007, it purchased twelve Airbus A380s and twenty-four Boeing 787 Dreamliner, marking the start of its long-haul fleet replacement. The centrepiece of the airline's long-haul fleet is the Boeing 747-400; with 52 examples in service, British Airways is the largest operator of this type in the world ...

subscribe for more aviation videos! This was the departure at 7:35AM on the 24th of December flying on BA0762. I had a layover in Heathrow from the night before. We were cleared direct off our STAR to intercept on 01L, the aircraft was extremely light due to it being Christmas Eve. We landed with no reverse thrust, although the approach was really bumpy, there were a lot of windshears on final which made the aircraft vibrate and sway. The arrival was on-time, and the crew were splendid! Geoengineering Strategies Among all ge-oengineering schemes, those currently considered most feasible involve increasing the planetary albedo, that is, reflecting more sunlight back into space before it can be absorbed. There are a number of different methods that could be used to increase the planet's reflectivity: 1. Add more small reflecting particles in the upper part of the atmosphere (the stratosphere which is located between 15 and 50 kilometers above the Earth's surface). 2. Add more clouds in the lower part of the atmosphere (the troposphere). 3. Place various kinds of reflecting objects in space either near the earth or at a stable location between the earth and the sun. 4. Change large portions of the planet's land cover from things that are dark (absorbing) such as trees to things that are light (reflecting) such as open snowcover or grasses. Applied to geoengineering, various technologies could be used to loft particles into the stratosphere, such as naval guns, rockets, hot air balloons or blimps, or a fleet of highflying aircraft. Potential types of particles for injection include sulfur dioxide, aluminum oxide dust or even designer self-levitating aerosols that might be engineered to migrate to particular regions (eg over the arctic) or to rise above the stratosphere (so as not to interfere in stratospheric chemistry). Because of the relative horizontal stability of the stratosphere compared to the troposphere, the residence time of injected particles is ...

subscribe for more aviation videos! This was the departure at 7:35AM on the 24th of December flying on BA0762. I had a layover in Heathrow from the night before, and had an amazing time watching the active from my hotel room. The flight was de-iced, and departed the gate on-time. The crew went out of their way in all fields, and at the end of the flight I was allowed to talk to the pilot/co-pilot and take some pictures as seen in the intro of the video. The departure was absolutely breathtaking, the flight took off right as the sun was bleeding the horizon. We proceeded to climb to flight level 410, or 41000ft. We flew over downtime london, then proceeded directly across the North Ocean toward Norway. ATC in Norway were helpful, and cleared us direct as soon as we entered the SID. Overall, an awesome flight! I'll be sure to fly with BA again in the future.
