The warmth and compassion found within Ubi Caritas tend to touch my heart to the core and therefore, I would love to share it with you. May it bring peace and comfort to you and yours. I was blessed to find the opportunity along my path to perform this wonderful piece with four dear friends and it remains one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever heard. Caritas hat 2003 erstmals den Prix Caritas für Menschlichkeit verliehen. Preisträger ist der international bekannte irische Priester Shay Cullen. Seit 1969 kämpft der Geehrte auf den Philippinen gegen Menschenhandel und Kinderprostitution. Gleichzeitig gründete er ein Zentrum, das missbrauchte Kinder therapiert und ihnen eine angepasste Ausbildung vermittelt. Die Preissumme von 10 000 Franken soll dem Therapiezentrum zugute kommen. Caritas Suisse a attribué en 2003 le premier Prix Caritas. La cérémonie s'est déroulée au Centre de culture et de congrès de Lucerne. Ce premier prix est attribué au prêtre irlandais Shay Cullen. Depuis 1969, ce dernier s'engage contre la trafic d'êtres humains et la prostitution enfantine aux Philippines. Shay Cullen a fondé un centre accueillant les jeunes filles victimes d'abus sexuels. Grâce à ce centre, les enfants peuvent recevoir une thérapie adaptée aux traumatismes résultant de leur situation et une formation leur donnant de nouvelles chances d'avenir. Le prix, une somme de 10 000 francs, est attribué au centre thérapeutique de Shay Cullen.

Prix Caritas 2005 - Südsudan Mit dem Prix Caritas 2005 für Menschlichkeit wurde in Luzern der sudanesische Bischof Paride Taban ausgezeichnet. Die Caritas würdigt damit sein jahrzehntelanges Engagement für Frieden und Gerechtigkeit im Südsudan. L'évêque soudanais Paride Taban a reçu mercredi à Lucerne le Prix Caritas 2005 pour les valeurs humaines. Caritas récompense ainsi son engagement de plusieurs décennies pour la paix et la justice au Sud-Soudan.

Mit dem Prix Caritas 2006 für Menschlichkeit wurde in Luzern der Fotograf und Journalist Jesús Abad Colorado ausgezeichnet. Die Caritas würdigt damit sein Engagement für Frieden und Gerechtigkeit in Kolumbien. Le photographe et journaliste Jesús Abad Colorado a reçu à Lucerne le Prix Caritas 2006 pour les valeurs humaines. Caritas récompense ainsi son engagement pour la paix et la justice en Colombie.
