'Obstacle 1' is taken from Interpol's first album 'Turn on the Bright Lights' and was released in the UK as a single in November 2002. In September 2003, due to the bands ever growing popularity 'Obstacle 1' was re-released and remixed by Arthur Baker. The video was directed by Floria Sigismondi of which shows the band playing in an empty room, where many wires appear to be moving around. A woman then appears dancing to the song in what appears to be a hallway and then another room. As the song reaches its climax a glass of water falls to the floor and breaks. The water then begins to travel through the building and finally arrives at the hallway where the woman appears to be dancing in a very disorientated and confused state. She finally falls to the floor and is electrocuted as a result of the electrical wires lying in the water. In an interview for WKQX Radio the band revealed that they wrote the song after watching a news report about a model's recent death! This song is just so moving and the video really captures the intense and emotional trauma that the girl is suffering. You feel her desperate state of confusion, the feeling of being so alone and trapped. Then the tragic ending to her tragic short life. We found that there is much mystery surrounding this song however, can we solve it and discover who the identity of the model really is? After doing our own research we discovered the following information so, have a read of what we've found, watch the video and ...

"Specialist" by Interpol - Bass cover
Hey everyone! I'm back with a new bass! It's been a longtime since i posted a cover, it's good to be back in business haha. Anyway, thanks for watching, and sorry for the mistakes (like these annoying right hand noises, ha ...) Peace!

This story is pretty ridiculous. Especially when you take into consideration the fact that Craig Lentz, the Missouri man, was made to pay child support to the people that were stealing his kid. Also, look at our injustice story where men are forced to pay for children that are not even theirs. Now the FBI and Interpol are tracking down individual parents, men and women, and if they can't pay they go to prison. Some owe a million dollars, that is a hard sum to just come up with. Of course this is used as a weapon to try to find parents guilty of neglect, sever their rights and "adopt out" (kidnap) their children. While we of course agree that dirt-bags that just don't pay for children to be spiteful should pay their ex, wouldn't probation and a job serve better than prison? The most disturbing thing about this is the fact that AIG, Goldman Sacks and the rest of Wall Street stole over $13.87 TRILLION! Yet it's individual parents that the FBI is hunting down while those scumbags go free. See the info on the $13.87 TRILLION! stolen here: www.sourcewatch.org

This song is occasionally fun to play. I wanted to get 100% on this song but the lag is just terrible on this game -_-.

Ok folks, thank you for the comments, they are highly appreciated. For those who care, its played on an IBANEZ Soundgear GSR200 active bass, made in Indonesia straight into a Marshall MBB 30W amp, recorded with a crappy cam (all donations for new equipment are accepted). :-)) Guitar Pro is running on the background, i didnt tabbed it out by myself. Its a awesome song with awesome basslines and rhythm; unfortunately in the original recording the bass is torn under the 2 guitars. Took me about 9 hours of practice mainly due speed issues. Thank you again for watching.

"Leif Erikson" Interpol
Singer/Songwriter Sergio Flores performs "Leif Erikson" written by Interpol. Interpol is an American indie rock and post-punk revival band from New York City.[1] Formed in 1997, the band's original line-up consisted of Paul Banks (vocals, guitar), Daniel Kessler (guitar, vocals), Carlos Dengler (bass guitar, keyboards) and Greg Drudy (drums, percussion). Drudy left the band in 2000 and was replaced by Sam Fogarino. In 2010, shortly after recording finished for the band's fourth album, Dengler left to pursue personal projects. Interpol, having first performed at Luna Lounge along with other notable bands like The Strokes, Longwave, The National and stellastarr, is one of the bands associated with the New York City indie music scene, and was one of several groups that emerged out of the post-punk revival of the 2000s. The band's sound is generally a mix of staccato bass and rhythmic, harmonized guitar, with a snare heavy mix, drawing comparisons to post-punk bands such as Joy Division and The Chameleons.[2] Aside from the lyrics, their songwriting method includes all of the band members, rather than relying on any given chief songwriter.[3] Interpol's debut album Turn on the Bright Lights (2002) was critically acclaimed, making it to tenth position on the NME's list of top albums in 2002[4] as well as #1 on Pitchfork Media's Top 50 Albums of 2002.[5] Subsequent records Antics (2004) and Our Love to Admire (2007) have confirmed the band's initial success and turned them into ...

Turn On the Bright Lights is the debut studio album by American post-punk revival band Interpol, released in August 2002. The album was recorded in November 2001 at Tarquin Studios in Connecticut, and was co-produced, mixed and engineered by Peter Katis and Gareth Jones. It was released on August 19, 2002 in the United Kingdom and August 20 in the United States, through independent record label Matador Records. Upon release, the record peaked at number 101 on the UK Albums Chart.
