Newly appointed Ohio Senator John Eklund explains to Middlefield Council members how his bill will reduce delays for Mexican drivers on their way to work in Lake County nurseries when stopped and held by police for having no Ohio driver's license. Eklund also explains that his legislation will reduce costs for employers of these foreign residents who having been paying to bail them out of jail and paying their fines for traffic offenses. With hundreds of thousands of Ohio workers needing work, it would seem that Senator Eklund would want to get busy passing legislation to put Ohioans back to work instead of helping foreign workers who have no Ohio licenses avoid being delayed by police.

The Coach is Back - "Jack" The Pitchman is Back TheCoachisBack **Jack DeAngelis, a former New York City broker, was charged with mail fraud in the 1980s in connection with a $340000 commodity fraud and placed on probation. TheCoachisBack **The National Basketball Association has slam dunked a Stroud Township man (Jack Daangelis) with a $398500 judgment for allegedly selling counterfeit trading cards. **Jack DeAngelis was not charged in connection with the national, multi-million dollar gold coin fraud that sent his brothers, Timothy and James DeAngelis, to federal prison. About 400 people were defrauded of $5.5 million in the scam. Timothy was sentenced to more than seven years in jail and James received 6? years but in 1995 a federal judge shaved 30 percent off their sentences for the cooperation they gave that led to charges against former nationally syndicated financial talk radio host "Sonny'' Bloch. Bloch died of cancer after pleading guilty to nine felonies in September 1996. Sources: www.poconorecord.com www.nytimes.com www.newsweek.com **July 20th, 2006 The Athens Ohio Police apparently made a rare catch Tuesday when they arrested three men for allegedly running a well-worn fake check-cashing scheme out of an Athens hotel room. (Timothy M. Deangelis and James P. Deangelis) checks for $110000 and $1.9 million, and "a handful of Iraqi money, brand-spanking new," some of which may or may not be fake (counterfeit -hmmm just like the basketball cards that Jack did). Some Cleveland Police Think:Faggots Don't Deserve to Wear Pants!!! A gay couple is suing the Cleveland, Ohio Police Department for, among other things, unlawful arrest, violent assault, public humiliation, and denying the couple pants. Jonathan Simcox and his partner Steven Ondo claim that a police officer out of uniform stopped the couple on the street in the middle of a lover's spat before throwing them on the ground and punching them in the face until they were covered in blood. The two men were arrested, but later released after being found not guilty of committing any crime. Ondo says at the time of the arrest, he and his partner were wearing only underwear and t-shirts. When Simcox's brother asked police if he could get them some pants and shoes, one of the officers allegedly responded by saying, "You can go get them shoes, but faggots don't deserve to wear pants in jail."Shame on you, Cleveland PD. Shame and lawsuits! Seeing as how the couple has already been found not guilty, it sounds like the Cleveland police responsible for this hateful episode will soon be coughing up a fat wad of cash. Who do you feel bad for?? www.thepetitionsite.com
