Paul McCartney - Maybe I'm Amazed
A nice track from Paul's first album. McCartney wrote the song in 1969, just before The Beatles' break-up. He credited his wife Linda with helping him get through the difficult time. Although most of his debut solo album was recorded at his farm in Scotland, McCartney recorded "Maybe I'm Amazed" entirely in EMI's Number Two studio in Abbey Road in London, where he was mixing the rest of the tracks. He played all the instruments: guitars, piano, organ and drums. Even though Paul declined to release the song as a single in 1970 (but a live version from Wings was released as a single seven years later), it nonetheless received a great deal of radio airplay worldwide, making it one of his most recognisable solo successes. A promotional film was made (which is on YouTube), comprising still photographs of McCartney, his wife Linda and stepdaughter Heather. Regarded as one of McCartney's finest love songs, it achieved the number 338 position in the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" list compiled by Rolling Stone magazine in November 2004, and is the only solo McCartney song to make the list. Shortly after the album's release, George Harrison described this track and "That Would Be Something" as "great", and regarded the other tracks as "fair". In a late 2009 Q&A with journalists held in London to promote his live album Good Evening New York City, McCartney said "Maybe I'm Amazed" was "the song he would like to be remembered for in the future".

Nick Martellaro - I'm Talking About You (Beatles/Chuck Berry cover)
The last video took me so long to do, that I really wanted to do a simple (yet enjoyable) cover with minimal instruments. This is my cover of Chuck Berry's song, "I'm Talking About You," which The Beatles also covered at the BBC, and live in Hamburg, I believe in 1963 and prior. The recording hasn't ever been officially released, but you can find a few different versions of them playing it on YouTube. Anyways, this is my version. I approached this song the same way I did "Good Golly Miss Molly" a while back - totally live, first takes, nothing fancy about it. This recording is only 5 tracks total - rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, and one vocal. Like I said, I used the first takes to get that "live" sound, mistakes and all. Interesting notes about this song: it's a great fun screamer! The lead guitar is also really fun to play. You'll notice that the bass line is similar (actually, it's exactly the same) as The Beatles' song "I Saw Her Standing There." Paul actually copied that bass line directly from this song. It's a great riff, either way, very simple to play...just one pattern. The rhythm guitar is almost identical as well. Oh, and one more thing...I don't mind when people ask me for chords and tabs for tricky songs, but please don't request this one, haha. :p I mean, it's literally three chords (E7, A7, and B7) - I'd say 90% of the song is basically just an E7, with a quick little blues changeup at the end, where it goes from D7, D#7, back to the E7. Jesse Thorsen spoke during Ron Paul's Speech ( That MSNBC Cutoff )
Why did yArmy Cpl. Jesse Thorsen spokeou vote for Ron Paul, CNN Reporter asks Army Cpl. Jesse Thorsen spoke during Paul's speech at his headquarters in Ankeny, Iowa. I'm really excited by a lot of his ideas especially when it comes to bringing the soldiers home. I've serving ten years all during war time, I'd like to see a little peace time army, he has the right idea, Vote Ron Paul 2012. He's done 2 tours in Afghanistan and is going on a third to do janitorial work scrubbing toilets, that's if the commanders don't strip him of his uniform so he then can freelly campaign for his cult Leader Ron Paul in New Hampshire. Guidelines laid out in the federal Hatch Act specifically prohibit uniformed members of the military from making political speeches or taking official roles on political campaigns. Members of the military are permitted to attend political rallies, but must not be wearing their uniform while in attendance. On stage with Paul, Thorsen was wearing green Army fatigues. There was a technical glitch that cut off the talk from the big military man. The Troops have done right removing the evil tyrant Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq. Who cares what far left, anti-war pot smoking liberals, Alex Jones conspiracy theorists that the government is responsible for 911, tattoo on the ignorants neck. Ron paul has a very dangerous foreign policy. Islamic terrorists frothing at the mouth to kill Westerners and wipe out Israel from the map. George W. Bush had done right. Can ...

In 1996 Gary Webb wrote a series of articles published in the San Jose Mercury News, which investigated Nicaraguans linked to the CIA-backed Contras who had allegedly smuggled cocaine into the US which was then distributed as crack cocaine into Los Angeles and funneled profits to the Contras. According to Webb, the CIA was aware of the cocaine transactions and the large shipments of drugs into the US by the Contra personnel and directly aided drug dealers to raise money for the Contras. In 1996 CIA Director John M. Deutch went to Los Angeles to refute the allegations raised by the Gary Webb articles, and was famously confronted by former LAPD officer Michael Ruppert, who testified that he witnessed it occurring.
