democracynow.org - "Senior ranking US military leaders have so distorted the truth when communicating with the US Congress and American people in regards to conditions on the ground in Afghanistan that the truth has become unrecognizable." That's the assessment of a damning new report by Army Lt. Col. Daniel Davis who returned in October from his second year-long deployment in Afghanistan and says military officials have not leveled with the American public about how poorly the the decade-long war is going. He argues that local Afghan governments are unable to provide the basic needs of the people and that insurgents control virtually all parts of Afghanistan beyond eyeshot of a US base. We speak with Michael Hastings of Rolling Stone, who obtained a copy of the full report and published it last week. "Lieutenant-Colonel Davis is on the right side of history and the fact [is] that he believes in this and is willing to risk [his career]," Hastings says. Over 10 yrs after the devestating day that was september 11th 2001 a video tape has been leaked, the same footage which was taken and hidden by the US Government, or an arm within. not only did the loss of lives of 3000 americans occur that day, but propaganda was swelling tapping into good americans patriotism which was then manipulated and abused to committ an invasion into a country where many more thousands of American soldiers have lost their lives and many more seriously injured. an estimate of 1.2 million innocent iraqi and afghans have been slaughtered in the process and for what? control of Middle Eastern resources whether it be oil, poppies or lithium and of course to maintain a geographical advantage in that area to ensure they remain the super power, the policeman of the world. even now today, although there has always been an overwhelming number of giant size holes in the official story its still hard to believe the lengths they were willing to go to to achieve foreign policy aims. 3000 innocent citizens just going to work, not hurting anyone, good law abiding citizens and then, the sacrifice of thousands more military men. just think they were even talking about having to stay another 100 years.

The White House is saying "no" to arming opposition and other military involvement in the Syrian conflict -- for the moment. Pentagon and US Central Command launched a review of US military capabilities in case that "no" turns a "yes." The backdoor for military action was ajar with State Department, spokesman Victoria Nuland saying that US never takes any option off the table, even though they "don't think more arms into Syria is the answer." It appears the Pentagon has a similar view, as it has reportedly launched a full-scale review of its available military might. Two senior administration officials told CNN that "options are being prepared in the event President Barack Obama was to call for them." Support for opposition groups and outright military strikes are among the options being looked at. This type of planning exercise is typical for the Pentagon, which would not want to be in the position of not having options for the president, if and when they are asked for, both officials told CNN. One of them called the effort a "scoping exercise," with Pentagon looking into what capabilities are available given other US military commitments in the region. US President Barack Obama said in an interview Sunday that he believes it is possible to resolve the conflict peacefully "without recourse to outside military intervention." However, some congressional lawmakers, including Arizona's Republican Senator John McCain, called for the US to explore the prospect of arming ...
